Copperward

Concept development

Arrive as a stranger. Build a life as an adventurer, merchant, craftsperson or neighbor in a medieval fantasy city with welcoming streets and dangerous edges.

A city to call home

The vision starts with a cabin in the forest and the first glimpse of a magnificent city. Beyond its gates are workshops, markets, guilds and neighborhoods where ambition can take more than one form. The aim is a place you want to return to, rather than a world you simply finish.

Find your own way to become somebody

We're exploring several connected paths: adventurers taking guild contracts and venturing into dungeons; gatherers supplying materials; craftspeople mastering a trade; and merchants building trusted businesses. A commission might connect a gatherer, a smith and an expedition, giving each a part in the same story.

Homes, recognizable shops, relationships and a growing reputation are central to the direction. The goal is meaningful challenge with room to recover from setbacks, and reasons to return beyond reaching a maximum level.

Adventure, then come home

The city offers comfort and community, but mysteries wait beyond its safe streets and beneath its foundations. We're exploring a rhythm of arriving, connecting, adventuring and coming home—with a modest room or market stall feeling valuable long before a grand house or shop.
